1. House System :

House system occupies a prominent position in the field of co-
curricular activities which are organised in a healthy competitive
spirit. Each student is alloted a particular house at time of admission,it helps the student to learn the
great ideals of self discipline, democratic leadership, loyalty and belongingness to the institution.

2. The school is divided into four houses, namely Bhagat, Cariappa, Manekshaw and Thimayya with
their own flag. The House Mistress/Master and their associates are responsible for the working of the
house. Students get good opportunities to take part in all kinds of activities held in school.

3. Working of the House:
In order to run the school administration smoothly each house is put on duty for fortnight, in turn the
name of the house on duty is displayed. The working of the house on duty is adjudged by the House
Co-ordinators. The house that excels in all house CCA activities during the year wins the "Best House
Trophy" award.
Besides other sporadic job the house on duty has to carry out the following duties:
(a) Update the notice board meant for house activities.
(b) Making arrangements for co-curricular activities.
(c) Performing duties during recess time and examinations.
(d) Each house elects its office bearers for the smooth conduct of co-curricular activities and daily
assignment.They are nominated by the Principal on the recommendation of the Co-ordinator and
House Mistress/Master as well as the house incharges.
(e)Conducting the morning assembly is the responsibility of the class teachers. Each class in turn
takes up this duty starting with the senior most class. Sequence of events during the morning
assemble is as follows :

Short prayer, long prayer, pledge, thought for the day common for all the classes from I-XII
Poem recitation or story telling : Class I-V
Speech, Quiz : Class VI-VIII
Debate, Declamation : Class IX-XII

Bhagat House:

The house is named in the honour of Lieutenant General P.S.
Bhagat. PVSM, VC. He was also known as "The Soldiers'General".
Born on 13th Oct. 1918 he did his schooling from RIMC, Dehradun
He was Commissioned in the year 1939 after passing out from
IMA, Dehradun. He led the Engineers Corps and was bestowed
with Victoria Cross and Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM).

Cariappa House:

The house is named in the honour of Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa,
OBE. He was the first Indian Commander-in-Chief and also the Chief of Army Staff from 15th June
1949 to 14th Jan 1953. He was born on 28th lan 1900 in Madikeri,Coorg.He completed his school
education from Central High School,Madikeri and graduated from Presidency College'Madras'RMC'
Sandhurst. Commissioned in the year 1918, Field Marshal K.M. cariappa led the Rajput
Regiment(Infantry).He was awarded "Officer of the Order of the British Empire".

Manekshaw House:


The house is named in the honour of the first Field Marshal S.H.F.J.Manekshaw,MC. He was the hero of
1971 war with Pakistan and was also the Chief of Army Staff from 8th June 1969 to 15th Jan 1973.He
was born on 3rd April 1914 in Amritsar and completed his schooling from Sherwood College, Nainital'
He was commissioned in the year 1934, after passingout from IMA, Dehradun he led 08 Gorkha Rifles
(Infantry) and was bestowed with Military Cross and Padma Vibhushan.

Thimayya House :

The house is named in the honour of General K.S. Thimayya, DSO. He was India's "Most popular
General". He was the Chief of Army Staff from 8th May 1957 to 7th May 1961. He was born
on 31st March 1906 in Mercara,Coorg.He did his schooling from St.Joseph's College, Coonoor and
graduated from PWRIMC,Dehradun,RMC, Sandhurst. He was Commissioned in the year 1926 and led
the Kumaon Regiment (Infantry). He was awarded with Distinguished Service Order (DSO).
